Description
A campaign trunk pared back to a perfect cube — no drawer, no kilim, nothing between you and the leather. Forty-five centimetres every way, it stands at side-table height beside a sofa or a bed and lifts open to a suede-lined well beneath.
It takes its name from Córdoba, the Spanish city whose leatherworkers were so renowned that the old word for a master of fine leather — cordwainer — comes from it.
The body is wrapped panel by panel in thick, oil-rich leather, each face framed with contrast topstitching that runs the full perimeter of every edge. A raised leather band circles the trunk where lid meets body, set with a line of dome-head studs. Shaped corner caps guard all eight corners, with folded brackets at the lid seam so the edge that takes the knocks is metal, not leather. A stitched leather carry handle sits on the lid face, riveted through a backing plate.
Inside, the lid and well are lined in deep chocolate suede, and a folding scissor stay holds the lid upright while you reach in — blankets, throws, records, the things a room needs close but out of sight.
The carcass is engineered board rather than solid timber, by design: a cube wrapped tight in leather needs faces that stay dead flat through Indian monsoon and winter, which ply does and solid wood does not. Choose any colour from our furniture leather range, plain or croc-embossed, and the metal finish for every corner, stud and stay.
Leather of this kind carries its history on the surface — natural mottling, tonal shifts and the occasional scar are part of the hide, and it deepens and softens with handling. No two trunks will read exactly alike.

Your piece is built after you order it rather than taken off a shelf, so we’d rather you check these measurements against your room first — made-to-order pieces can’t be returned or exchanged. Being handmade, finished dimensions may vary by a centimetre or two.

Materials
Built from carefully selected, natural materials — kiln-dried hardwoods, hand-spun textiles, cast metal and quarried stone, chosen to last for decades. Naturally occurring grain and tone variation is intrinsic to each handmade piece.
Fabric care
Vacuum gently and regularly with an upholstery attachment to lift dust before it settles. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth — press, don’t rub — and avoid soaking the fabric. Plump and rotate loose cushions so they wear evenly. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to preserve colour, and have delicate weaves cleaned professionally rather than machine-washed.
Craftsmanship
Carved, joined and finished by hand in our workshops, passing through the hands of several craftspeople. Joinery is mortise-and-tenon — never glued shortcuts — so the piece is made to be kept and passed down.
Assembly & Installation
Most pieces arrive securely packed and ready to use. Some larger items may require simple assembly; installation assistance may be available depending on the product and your location — speak with a consultant to confirm before ordering.
Care
Dust timber with a soft dry cloth and treat with wax balm twice yearly. Vacuum upholstery gently and treat marks promptly. Keep out of prolonged direct sun to preserve the finish.
Delivery & Shipping
Made-to-order pieces are crafted in 2–3 weeks and then dispatched with complimentary, insured delivery across India, securely packed for transit. Assembly assistance is available on selected pieces.
