Mattress not included. The headboard is drawn to clear a six-inch (15 cm) mattress, so the buttoned panel reads whole rather than losing its lower rows behind the bedding. The platform sits 36 cm from the floor.
Description
A bed that takes a season of linen and never admits to it.
The headboard is deep-buttoned by hand across a single field of leather, every diamond drawn down and held by a leather-covered button so the folds run in a long diagonal the full width of the bed. Around that panel sits a border of vintage kilim — top, both sides and base — bound at its edge in hand-cut leather. It stands 135 cm from the floor, and the buttoned field is set to clear a six-inch mattress, so the pattern reads whole instead of losing its bottom rows behind the bedding.
The base is a platform rather than a frame. Four leather-faced panels lift on continuous hinges to open the storage beneath, reached without shifting the bed or the mattress. Two drawers run out from the foot on soft-close runners, each pulled by a stitched leather strap and brass-finished keeper taken from campaign luggage. The long sides carry kilim set between leather stiles and outlined in hand-driven studs.
Underneath the leather, the storage boxes are built in engineered ply. Across a span this wide it holds flat where a solid timber panel would cup and move with the season, and it carries the weight of a lifted platform without complaint. The legs are solid wood, squared and finished to your choice. The base is made in two halves, so it comes through doorways and up stairwells that a one-piece king could never clear.
The kilim is hand-cut from vintage rugs, so no two beds are alike. The pattern, colours and weave will differ from the photographs, and the panels will not match one another — that one-of-a-kind character is the essence of the piece. The leather is left with a natural finish and will darken at the buttoning and along the edges your hands find most.

Your piece is built after you order it rather than taken off a shelf, so we’d rather you check these measurements against your room first — made-to-order pieces can’t be returned or exchanged. Being handmade, finished dimensions may vary by a centimetre or two.
If these proportions aren’t quite right for your space, we can change them. Speak to a design consultant before you order and we’ll build the piece to your measurements.
Materials
Built from carefully selected, natural materials — kiln-dried hardwoods, hand-spun textiles, cast metal and quarried stone, chosen to last for decades. Naturally occurring grain and tone variation is intrinsic to each handmade piece.
Fabric care
Vacuum gently and regularly with an upholstery attachment to lift dust before it settles. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth — press, don’t rub — and avoid soaking the fabric. Plump and rotate loose cushions so they wear evenly. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to preserve colour, and have delicate weaves cleaned professionally rather than machine-washed.
Craftsmanship
Carved, joined and finished by hand in our workshops, passing through the hands of several craftspeople. Joinery is mortise-and-tenon — never glued shortcuts — so the piece is made to be kept and passed down.
Assembly & Installation
Most pieces arrive securely packed and ready to use. Some larger items may require simple assembly; installation assistance may be available depending on the product and your location — speak with a consultant to confirm before ordering.
Care
Dust timber with a soft dry cloth and treat with wax balm twice yearly. Vacuum upholstery gently and treat marks promptly. Keep out of prolonged direct sun to preserve the finish.
